E-Mobility ist zwar als Schlagwort in aller Munde, aber leider gibt es derzeit weder preisgünstige Fahrzeuge noch eine vernünftige Infrastruktur. Deshalb haben wir von 3E-motion beschlossen, selbst dafür zu sorgen, dass vernünftige, bezahlbare und leicht zu wartende Elektrofahrzeuge verfügbar werden.
Everyone talks about e-mobility, but in Germany there are neither affordable vehicles nor a suitable infrastructure. Therefor we decided to ensure ourselves that there will be reasonable, affordable and easy to maintain electric vehicles available.
Besonders die Landbevölkerung sieht sich von der allgemeinen Entwicklung ausgeschlossen. Statt die dort lebenden Menschen mit den notwendigen Fahrgelegenheiten zu versorgen, werden derzeit nur sogenannte „City“-Konzepte entwickelt. Man geht dabei davon aus, dass der „Hipster“ in Zukunft kein eigenes Auto mehr braucht, sondern einen Service, der ihn von Überall nach Irgendwo (und vice versa) bringt, in Form von Uber oder Car-Sharing.
Especially the people living on the countryside feel excluded from the development. Instead of supporting the people suffering from a missing public transport infrastructure, a lot of socalled „Urban Mobility“ concepts are promoted. They come from the idea, that the future „hipster“ does not need an own car, but a service getting him from everywhere to anywhere (and vice versa) by Uber-like business models or car sharing.
Auf dem Land sieht sich die Bevölkerung allerdings mit der Tatsache konfrontiert, dass die Versorgungslage immer schlechter wird. Discounter eröffnen nicht in jedem Ort, dasselbe gilt für Apotheken, Sparkassen, Zahnärzte und viele weitere Dienstleister, die in der Stadt in Gehweite erreichbar sind. Meist ist eine Entfernung zwischen 5 und 10 km zu überbrücken. Ein kleines Elektrofahrzeug würde dieses Problem lösen können, allerdings gibt es derzeit kein brauchbares Angebot. Ein Twizy kann zwar 2 Personen befördern, aber bereits der Kauf einer Kiste Coca Cola würde diese in Schwierigkeiten bringen. Ein kleines, preisgünstiges Fahrzeug unter 10.000€ mit überschaubarer Reichweite und genügend Stauraum würde hier Abhilfe schaffen.
On the countryside the people are challenged by an infrastructure that is getting worse with every year passing by. Discounters close, also pharmacies, drugstores, banks, dentists and many other service suppliers which can be reached within walking distance in a city. Usually the distance between the small town inhabitants to the supplies varies from 5 to 10 km. A small electric vehicle would solve the problem, but there is no reasonable offer available. A Renault TWIZY can give a ride to two people, but already the purchase of a crate with 12 bottles of Coca Cola will be a big challenge in transport. A small, affordable vehicle priced below 10.000€ with a limited range and enough space for daily living purchases would be the solution.
Das 3E-UTV bietet genau das, was auf dem Land benötigt wird, kann an der dort meist vorhandenen Photovoltaik-Anlage geladen werden und ist mit seinem Wechselakkusystem auf alle Eventualitäten vorbereitet. Ladezeiten entfallen, Akkus können jederzeit bei Bedarf gewechselt, die Reichweite über weitere, einfach zusteckbare Module verlängert werden. Die gleichen Module können auch zuhause als Teil einer „Power-Wall“ zur Speicherung von selbst erzeugtem Solarstrom genutzt werden und werden immer dann geladen, wenn gerade überschüssiger Strom vorhanden ist.
3E’s UTV offers exactly what is needed on the countryside. The battery can be loaded with a photovoltaic plant, which can be found on many roofs there. The battery swap system allows for enough range and offers independence from public charging stations. The battery modules can also be used in a „power-wall“ which is part of the smart home’s power storage system. The modules are charged whenever there is more power available than used in the house.
Schaut man heute kritisch auf „Elektroautos“, so stellt man schnell fest, dass es sich lediglich um ganz normale Pkw’s handelt, die auf Antrieb mit Elektromotoren umgerüstet wurden oder gleich als Hybrid laufen. Die Fahrzeuge werden eher komplexer und fehleranfälliger, obwohl der E-Motor eigentlich für das Gegenteil sorgen sollte. Bis zu 2/3 eines Fahrzeugs werden nur für den Showfaktor und die Aerodynamik verwendet, davon ausgehend, dass ein solches Fahrzeug 250 km/h schnell fahren können muss. Mit der Reichweite eines E-Fahrzeugs wäre man da schnell am Ende, ganz gleich wie groß der Akku auch wäre.
A critical view on „electrified vehicles“ shows, that most of them are quite normal cars. Just the powertrain has been exchanged for an electric or hybrid one. The vehicles thus get even more complex and error prone, eventhough the use of an electric motor should reduce problems and failures. Up to 2/3rds of a vehicle are used for the show and its aerodynamics, based on the idea of speeding with 250 km/h on a german highway. If you would do so with an electric vehicle, the range would be rather limited, whatever capacity your battery would offer.
Wenn man die Vorteile des Elektroantriebs (Platzbedarf, kein Tank/Kühler/Getriebe/Abgassystem etc) konsequent nutzt und für Geschwindigkeiten plant, die auf dem Land maximal gefahren werden, sind ganz andere Lösungen zum Nutzen der Passagiere möglich. Platz und Komfort ist insbesondere dann wichtig, wenn bald autonomes Fahren möglich werden sollte.
If the benefits of an electric powertrain in terms of space requirements, elimination of tank/cooler/gearbox/exhaust system etc are consequently used to design a vehicle perfectly tailored to the needs of the people on the countryside and the speed limits on their roads, the solution will look completely different for the benefit of the users. Space and comfort will be much more important than a sports car look, especially when it comes to automomes driving.
Wenn man zurückschaut in die Historie des Automobils, wird man schnell fündig. Es gibt viele zielführende Lösungsansätze, die damals nicht erfolgreich waren, weil die Technologien noch nicht genügend ausgereift waren. Ein Beispiel für optimale Platzausnutzung war z.B. der Fiat Multipla 600 aus dem 50er Jahren. Ein Kleinfahrzeug, das bis zu 6 Passagieren mit Gepäck Platz bot. Unser 3EVolution-Concept-Car orientiert sich an diesem Entwurf.
You don’t have to search deep in the history of the automobile to find examples. There are many carefully targeted solutions which could not conquer the market because of a lack in technology. The FIAT Multipla 600 from the 50’s of the last century is a good example for perfect use of the available space. A very small car, but with accomodation for 6 people including baggage. Our 3EVOLUTION prototype revives its concept.
In China hat man schon viele Jahre Erfahrung mit elektrischer Massen-Mobilität. Hunderttausende rollern jeden Morgen elektrisch in die Stadt, um dort zu arbeiten.
In China there is a lot of experience with electric mobility. Hundreds of thousands of people take a ride with the electric scooter to their workplace in the city every day.
